mainland under the registration number 00NGO/R1/00961. Formerly
recognized as the Community Concern of Orphans and Development
Association (COCODA), the organization is deeply committed to creating
positive changes in vulnerable communities. With our headquarters
nestled in the vibrant Njombe region, we have cultivated a wealth of
grassroots-level experience, catering to the diverse needs of both urban
and rural populations.
Currently, our sphere of influence
extends across the Njombe and Mtwara regions, with ambitious plans to
expand our footprint nationwide. COCODA Tanzania invites competent and

Data Officer
Data Officer at COCODA May 2025
Position: Data Officer
Location: Mtwara Region
Job Type: Full-time
Report to: M&E Officer
Project: Epic Project
The Data Officer will be expected to perform the following data duties;
- Enter all Community engagement and biomedical data on a program database on daily bases.
- Ensure that all files are arranged in a convenient system so that they can be retrieved quickly.
- Master
all M&E tools and provide orientation to project staff for proper
data monitoring to ensure good quality data are collected - Provide on job training on data management to Peer Educators and Providers
- Ensure that files and other documents are stored safely and well arranged in an organized manner.
- Ensure that data room is always clean and free of dust and other harmful materials.
- Coordinate with M&E Officer to ensure the quality of data.
- Prepare and send appropriate data reports to EpiC regional office as per official requirements.
- Receive data tools from Community Mobilizers and Health Care Providers for proper compilation, organization and storage.

Qualification and experience
- Degree/diploma in records management/or any related field.
- Proven experiences as data entry clerk.
- Fast typing skills.
- Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheet (MS Office Excel, Word etc.)
- Basic understanding of databases.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Organizational skills.
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at COCODA May 2025
Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Mtwara Region
Job Type: Full-time
Report to: Project Manager
Project: Epic Project
Overall purpose of the role:
The
incumbent will provide comprehensive technical support in planning and
executing Monitoring and Evaluation activities essential for
implementing community interventions targeting HIV prevention, care,
treatment, and related services at High-Risk Populations. Collaborating
closely with EpiC regional teams, Health Management Teams at district
and regional levels, healthcare providers, Civil Society Organizations,
and other stakeholders, they will ensure the effective implementation of
high-quality programs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work
with the project team to design and implement Monitoring and Evaluation
(M&E) systems for collecting, managing, and disseminating data,
reporting progress towards program objectives. - Ensure timely availability of routinely collected data presented in user-friendly formats for program monitoring.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on all indicators for both donor and organizational purposes.
- Conduct
regular data quality assessments and joint supportive supervision with
Regional and Council Health Management Teams (R/CHMT) to maintain the
highest standards of program data quality. - Maintain security of
data tools, ensuring confidentiality of records and data. ∙ Evaluate
system performance and suggest improvements in software, hardware, and
data storage. - Track referral forms and verify completed referrals and linkage outcomes through facility registers and databases.
- Develop
and implement procedures for effective data management, formulate
techniques for quality data collection, establish data sharing rules,
and support others in utilizing data systems. - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, social sciences, Computer science, Information Technology or statistics.
- Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, presentation, report writing and dissemination.
- Over
3 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing health
monitoring and evaluation, with a preference for HIV/AIDS
epidemiological experience. - Experience in primary collection of clinical data, form design, data collection instruments, and analysis.
- Familiarity with MOHCDGEC/PEPFAR data systems including DHIS (HMIS Tanzania), CTC2 Database, INFOLINK, and DATIM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel, and one or more statistical analysis packages (SAS, SPSS, STATA).
- Experience in using mobile data collection tools e.g Kobotoolbox, ODK, google form etc
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools e.g Excel, Tableau, Power BI etc
- Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili. Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
