Rift
Valley Cooperative Union (RIVACU) is a secondary cooperative that is
found in the northern zone of Tanzania. The Union was registered in 1988
under the Cooperative Act of 1984.RIVACU LTD is seeking for the
qualified candidates to fill in the position below;

Internal Auditor (1 Position)
Job title: Internal Auditor (1 Position)
Location: Babati-Manyara
Reporting to: General Manager
Job type: Fixed term, Full-time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountable
  for reviewing the accounts prepared and checking the adequacy of
  internal control in RIVACU LTD accounts and comment on deviations if
  any.
• Reviewing and reporting as the operating systems outlined
  in the various laws, regulations and directives from the Registrar of
  Cooperatives are adhered to ensure that the adequate control over the
  use of funds in the office.
• To review and provide information on the accuracy of the calculations and the various information prepared by the office;
• Review and advice on the activities and plans of the office to see if
  they align with the intended purposes or as permission, vision and value
  of the Union.
• Reviewing and reporting on the various measures
  taken by management in response to the External Auditors arguments; and
  support the implementation of the recommendations;
• To assist on the implementation of the recommendations made by the external auditors;
• Check the existing operational and technological systems in the office and advice accordingly;
• Develop a work plan and a strategic audit plan;
• Prepare and maintain inspection plans;
• To carry out value checks on development projects and other operations of the Union and an advice accordingly.
• Provide audit opinion advice on rectifications (if any accordingly)
• Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by your supervisor

Internal Auditor requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Accountancy/Finance or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Auditing, Accounting or related fields is often required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to write a document in a concise and focused style.
• Should have a computer skills
• Excellent developed interpersonal and organizational skills.

Chief Accountant (1 Position)
Job title: Chief Accountant (1Position)
Location: Babati-Manyara
Reporting to: General Manager
Job type: Fixed term, Full-time.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise
  the accounts department and monitor financial information on a daily
  basis and ensure that the accounting records are accurately and properly
  prepared and maintained.
• Co-ordinate budgeting exercise including production of regular budget reports and budgetary control;
• Chief advisors to the management and Board of Directors on all financial matters of the union.
• Ensure that all the statutory returns are prepared and payments are
  made in time. 5. Overall in charge of costs control in the union using
  budgetary and other management control methods;
• Advice the
  company on compliance to tax matters i.e VAT, Corporate tax,PAYE,
  withholding tax etc. to ensure statutory compliance and prepare the
  relevant monthly/quarterly annual returns;
• Design and implement internal financial controls;
• Carry out transaction settlements in accordance with authorization
  mandates and in observance of prudence and existing internal controls;
• Monitor cash requirements/position;
• Prepare all statutory and regulatory reports in line with accepted accounting standards;
• Provide guidance to the management on issues pertaining to accounting as well as financial and regulatory reporting;
• Prepare and submit Management, Board and regulatory report of high quality and on timely basis.
• Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by General Manager from time to time.

Chief Accountant requirements

• Holder of degree in Accountancy/Finance or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role from reputable organization.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to write a document in a concise and focused style.
• Should have a computer skills
• Excellent developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
