Experienced Teachers Needed to Serve at an International Christian School
Haven of Peace Academy
Haven
of Peace Academy (HOPAC) is a faith-based educational institution owned
and operated by Haven of Peace Trust. Founded in 1994, the academy was
originally established for the children of missionaries and has since
evolved into a Christian international school with a diverse student
population. This includes children of missionaries and full-time
Christian service workers, children of expatriates working in the
non-profit and for-profit sectors, and children of Tanzanians working in
the non-profit, for-profit, and public sectors.

The school is
located in Kunduchi, at the junction of Salasala Road and Bagamoyo Road
in Kinondoni Municipal, Dar es Salaam. HOPAC is currently inviting
applications for the vacancies of competent, experienced, and qualified
teachers and school personnel for the academic year 2025/2026, starting
in August 2025.

Available Teaching Positions at HOPAC:
The following teaching positions are open within the classroom for the 2025/2026 academic year:

• Psychology and Sociology Teacher for Secondary
• Learning Support Teacher
• Mathematics Teacher for Secondary
• Geography Teacher
• Physical Education (PE) Teacher

Job Summary:

• Creating and maintaining a classroom that is aesthetically pleasing and conducive to learning.
• Attending and participating in regular staff meetings and in-service training sponsored by the school.
• Maintaining and submitting weekly lesson plans and assessments, providing topic web details.
• Keeping records of students’ progress and providing written reports each term for the parents.
• Being present in the classroom at least 15 minutes before school starts and at least 15 minutes after school ends.
• Agreeing to adhere to any reasonable request made by the Principal or Director.
• Teachers
  report to the applicable principal and are responsible for all aspects
  of teaching and learning within their classroom, including classroom
  management, lesson planning, assessment, and reporting.
• Teachers
  also serve as student mentors, usually lead service learning student
  groups, and may volunteer to lead clubs or coach sports.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
For Teaching Staff:

• A Bachelor’s degree in education/teaching or PGDE.
• A minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in a multicultural setting.
• Experience with the Cambridge International curriculum is preferred.
• Fluent in English, as it is the medium of instruction.
• Committed Christian, actively living for God and pursuing spiritual growth.

Secondary Teacher Job Summary:

• Creating a learning environment in which each student in the class is enabled to work.
• Instructing students in accordance with the school curriculum.
• Maintaining discipline within the classroom to enable students to work and learn.
• Maintaining the Christian ethos of the school.
