1. Finance & Administration Officer (1 Open Position)
Are
you detail-oriented and passionate about financial stewardship? This
role is essential to keeping our organization running smoothly while
supporting our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare purchase orders for all activities and purchases.
  • Ensure payments follow approved purchase orders.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Assist with monthly financial verifications and closings.

Compliance & Internal Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory financial regulations.
  • File obligations with TRA, ZRA, and ZSSF.
  • Stay updated on Zanzibar’s tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor internal controls to protect assets and prevent fraud.
  • Support audits with documentation and clarifications.

Administrative & Office Management:

  • Support teams with office logistics.
  • Manage schedules, meetings, and correspondence.
  • Arrange staff travel, transport, and accommodation.
  • Oversee assets (vehicles, utilities, registries) and event planning.
  • Ensure policy compliance and maintain filing systems.

Procurement Coordination:

  • Facilitate purchase order creation and dispatch.
  • Ensure procurement follows organizational policies.
  • Use proper forms and procedures for purchases/contracts.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Zanzibar tax laws is a plus.

2. Senior Accountant (1 Open Position)

to take on a leadership role in finance? The Senior Accountant will
ensure our financial records are impeccable and support strategic
decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record-Keeping:

  • Record daily transactions in the general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts receivable/payable.
  • Maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support monthly verifications and closings with the head office.

Financial Reporting:

  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze data for trends and issues.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Forecast financial needs for funding requests.

Statutory Compliance:

  • File obligations with TRA, ZRA, and ZSSF.
  • Stay updated on Zanzibar’s tax and regulatory laws.

Internal Controls:

  • Implement controls to safeguard assets.
  • Mitigate risks of fraud and errors.

Auditing and Compliance:

  • Assist with internal/external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to IPSAS and IFRS standards.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or auditing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
