Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: Dar es salaam
Job Type: Full-time
Job Purpose:
To provide strategic and operational leadership
for the Finance Department, ensuring robust financial management,
accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, risk management, and support
for decision-making to enhance organizational performance and
sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
• Advise senior management and the board on financial planning, risk management, and investment opportunities.
• Contribute
  to corporate strategy through financial analysis and forecasting.
  Financial Management & Reporting Oversee preparation of financial
  statements, management accounts, and annual reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Monitor
  key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide variance analysis with
  recommendations. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting
  process and ensure regular forecasting updates.
• Monitor budgetary performance and control costs.
• Provide
  insights for continuous financial improvement. Cash Flow & Treasury
  Management Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity and optimize
  capital structure.
• Oversee banking relationships and treasury operations.
• Evaluate
  funding options and manage debt obligations. Compliance & Internal
  Controls Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and
  company policies.
• Strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Coordinate
  internal and external audits. Team Leadership & Development Lead,
  mentor, and develop the finance team to build capacity and ensure high
  performance.
• Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and
  continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with auditors,
  tax consultants, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the board and executive team.
• Support cross-functional teams with financial insights and decision-making tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience in [insert relevant industry: e.g., manufacturing, agribusiness, energy, etc.] is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles, IFRS, and local tax laws.
