Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant at Daqing Oilfield Construction Group Co. Limited April 2025

DOCG is hiring: Assistant Accountant
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Dar-es-Salaam (Candidates must be based in Dar-es-Salaam)
Key Responsibilities:

• Support in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and month-end close
• Oversee the management of invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
• Monitor and assist in the reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and relevant regulations
• Liaise with external auditors and stakeholders during audits
• Provide support to junior team members in day-to-day accounting tasks
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (construction/project experience a plus)
• CPA qualification is an added advantage
• Familiarity with Tanzania tax law and Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
