Geofields Tanzania is currently hiring for the following positions at
Geita Gold Mine, Geita. Please review the job descriptions, eligibility

1. Cable Bolt Offsider
Position Purpose:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all HS&E policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Perform pre-start checks on equipment.
• Report hazardous situations and accidents.
• Maintain equipment and tools to minimize downtime.
• Carry out inspections and prepare areas for drilling, installation, and grouting in accordance with safety procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in and around the underground mine.

Essential Requirements:

• Basic First Aid certification.
• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License.
• Secondary school completion.
• Basic numeracy and proficiency in verbal/written English.

2. Underground Shift Supervisor
Position Purpose:
Coordinate underground mining activities on a daily basis, ensuring
optimal allocation of resources, machinery, and personnel to meet
production targets.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily mine operations and ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Plan and supervise daily production levels and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Conduct daily work planning meetings and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate training for shift personnel to ensure safety and competency.
• Handle incident reporting and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Liaise with contractors and ensure work is synchronized with mining operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• 10 years of underground experience in mechanized hard rock mining.
• 5 years in a supervisory role within the mining industry.
• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Understanding of mining techniques, explosives, and equipment.

3. Offsider (Geita Gold Mine, Geita)
Position Purpose:

Assist with the drilling, installation, and grouting of cable holes, and support underground operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and pre-start checks.
• Perform routine inspections and ensure tools are serviceable and safe.
• Minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the underground mine.
• Assist in the delivery and pickup of equipment and materials.

Essential Requirements:

• Basic First Aid certification.
• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License.
• Secondary school completion.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet safety standards.
