Workshop Manager

Job Title: Workshop Manager
Job Type: Full-time
We
are seeking a dedicated Workshop Manager to join our team and
contribute to our mission of fostering a positive work environment.
Role Summary:
The
Workshop Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the
workshop operations, ensuring the fleet’s optimal performance and
minimal downtime. This role involves leading a team of skilled
technicians, coordinating with procurement, stores, and operations
departments, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and
environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong
leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to streamline processes
for maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance and Repairs:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet, including trucks, trailers, and support vehicles.
- Collaborate
with the maintenance planner and implement preventive maintenance
schedules to reduce breakdowns and ensure fleet reliability. - Analyze and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Workshop
Operations Management: Supervise the end-to-end workflow: from
checklist creation, job card management in SAP, parts requisition, and
procurement to job card closure. - Monitor and ensure adherence to
turnaround times for minor and major repairs. o Ensure proper
documentation and updates of all repair activities in the system.
Procurement and Inventory Coordination:
- Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure timely sourcing and delivery of parts.
- Conduct periodic audits of the workshop’s inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Establish and maintain relationships with parts suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure quality.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor workshop supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team productivity.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Health,
Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to HSE
standards within the workshop and surrounding areas. o Conduct regular
safety drills, inspections, and hazard assessments. - Address and resolve any safety concerns promptly.
- Reporting
and Analytics: Generate detailed reports on fleet standing time,
workflow efficiency, and parts usage. o Analyze data to identify trends,
inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. - Present recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate workshop processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools, and methods in fleet maintenance.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in workshop management or a similar role, preferably in the logistics or transport industry.
- Strong understanding of fleet management systems, particularly SAP.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HSE standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in analyzing data and generating actionable insights.

Job Title: Tracking Officer -2 Vacancies
Job Type: Full-time
We
are seeking a dedicated Tracking Officer to join our team and
contribute to our mission of fostering a positive work environment.
Job Summary
The
Tracking Officer is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the timely
and efficient movement of vehicles, shipments, or equipment. The role
involves utilizing GPS tracking systems, analyzing route efficiency, and
coordinating with drivers and operational teams to ensure seamless
transport and delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Control truck movement.
- Monitor and ensure the fleet operation complies with national laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports and raise issues such as violation of speed limits, illegal haulage etc.
- Immediately report all incidents regarding transportation to management.
- To ensure full tracking of loaded trucks down to its assigned destination.
- To ensure reporting of any illegal /suspicious activities and truck diversion.
- To ensure recording /entering of all violation into the tracking logbook.
- Monitoring of Turnaround Time (TAT) down time.
- Monitoring of all company’s fleets.
- Take on other related tasks assigned by Management.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in GPS tracking systems and transportation management software.
- Basic
computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite). o Ability to analyze routes,
optimize travel schedules, and detect inefficiencies. - Clear and professional communication, both verbal and written.
- Excellent
interpersonal skills for coordination with drivers and teams. o Quick
decision-making in response to emergencies or disruptions. o
Attention to detail in maintaining records and schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in a similar role in logistics, transport, or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with fleet management and GPS tracking systems is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to work in shifts or extended hours when necessary.
- Strong knowledge of local, regional and outside of Tanzania geography.
