We are looking for a procurement & logistics officer who will be
responsible for managing all the procurement & logistics activities
in Tanzania (Wananchi Group Entities). He/she will be reporting to the
Country Finance Manager with a dotted line to the Wananchi Group
Procurement & Logistics HOD.

VACANCY: Procurement & Logistics Officer
JOB PURPOSE
• Responsible for procurement functions (assets, stock, spares and other inventory)
• Responsible for the cost effective acquisition of materials and services within the group’s guidelines and governance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Ensure completion of the procurement cycle from requisition to final
delivery. Receive requisitions, get quotations from suppliers and
negotiate to secure the most advantageous terms. Choose the best
supplier that gives the company the best value for money and lead times
whilst adhering to quality of goods as per the defined standards and
expectations.
2. Ensure that the inventory and stock levels do not go under the economic order quantity.
3.
Adherence to the importation procedures: Ensure goods are cleared in
good time, act as the custodian for these goods, costing of all
inventory in the company standard software (Sage Pastel).
4. Ensure
strong relationship with suppliers, exhibiting excellent communication
skills when engaging suppliers and internal stakeholders, i.e. user
departments and management.
5.Manage both local and international suppliers.
6. Handle contracts for way leaves, lease, rent for all the point-of-presence (POPs) locations in Dar es Salaam and upcountry.
7.Be
on top of the LPO processing within timelines with prompt feedback of
the approval process shared to user departments and other key
stakeholders.
8.Head the procurement & logistics unit under the finance department.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
• 3+Years of relevant experience, proven working experience as a procurement officer, talent in negotiations.

EDUCATION
• Post-Graduate Diploma in International Trade , Bachelor Degree in
Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Management, CPSP
certification is mandatory.
