We are
The
European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 27
European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs
through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global
organizations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140
diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a
similar function to those of an embassy.
The Delegation of the
European Union to Tanzania and the East African Community is a key actor
in the relations between the European Union and Tanzania as well as the
East African Community. In close coordination with EU Member States’ Heads of Missions, its role is to:
- Share the values and interests of the European Union.
- Promote fundamental rights, good governance and accountable democracy.
- Support Tanzania’s development agenda and sustainable development goals for a better life for all.
- Stimulate inclusive growth, private sector and job creation.
- Foster regional peace and stability, economic integration and trade development.
We offer
Upon
recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy a specific function
as Administrative Assistant. The job functions may be change in
accordance with the needs of the Delegation.
This is a full time
employment. The post is allocated in salary Group 2 which has a minimum
gross salary of 4,505,022 TZS per month.
We offer other
entitlements as per European Union human resources procedures applicable
to locally recruited staff. The definitive salary will be determined
based on the professional experience of the successful candidate. We
offer a competitive position in an international environment. Benefits,
such as additional pension scheme and medical insurance, are offered to
employees and their families under certain conditions.
Following main tasks and duties are currently required:
- Administrative, financial and Logistical Support
- Management of HR Matters
- Back-up and Support Function
- Procurement and Planning
- Protocol and Visits/Events
Minimum requirements / eligibility criteria
Compulsory requirement Asset Qualifications
- University Diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration or Human Resources Management Degree in related field

Professional experience
- 5 years in Administrative Management including Procurement/tendering and Human Resources Management
- 5 yrs HR related experience
- Experience working with Embassies/ NGOs/international organisation
Knowledge of languages
- Ability to well communicate in English and preferably in another EU language (French, German…).
- Ability to understand Cl ability to read Cl ability to speak Cl ability to write Cl
- Knowledge of Swahili
Knowledge of IT tools
- Rules and Procedures to organizational planning, coordination and planning
- ICT tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc Degree in related field

The procedure
After
the deadline for applications, the applications will be reviewed by a
Selection Committee set up for this purpose. The Selection Committee
will prepare a short-list of candidates who are considered to be the
most suitable for the post on the basis of a preliminary assessment of
the information provided in their application letter and the supporting
documents. The short-listed candidates will be invited to an assessment
phase which may include an interview if necessary during this phase, the
Selection Committee will assess the suitability of the candidates for
the post.
The candidates who have not been short-listed will not be contacted individually.
