Trust Bank is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Manager
– Operational Risk at our Head Office in Dar Es Salaam. Below are the
details of the job opportunity.
Position Details

  • Position: Manager – Operational Risk
  • Location: Dar Es Salaam
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Reports to: Head – Risk

Job Purpose
The
Operational Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing,
mitigating, and monitoring operational risks across the bank. This role
ensures the effective implementation of risk management tools, promotes a
strong risk culture, and enhances risk awareness through training and
continuous engagement with stakeholders.

Duties

  • Identify,
    assess, and monitor operational risks across the bank, including risks
    related to people, processes, systems, and external factors, and
    consolidate findings regularly.
  • Review and update operational
    risk management policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the
    bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and
    manage key operational risk tools, including Risk and Control
    Self-Assessment (RCSA), Incident/Loss Data Management (LDM), and Key
    Risk Indicators (KRIs), ensuring effective risk monitoring and
    reporting.
  • Conduct independent control tests and assurance
    activities to validate RCSAs and KRIs, effectively challenging existing
    internal controls where necessary.
  • Compile, analyze, and present
    comprehensive internal risk reports to senior management and Risk
    Committees, offering insights and recommendations for continuous risk
    management improvements.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification in Banking, Risk Management, or Accounting is an added advantage.
  • At
    least 4 years of experience in banking, preferably with exposure to
    both branch operations and support functions, or in a related field such
    as business process analysis, audit, or risk management.

  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, capable of identifying risks and proposing effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently while taking full ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities to effectively convey risk insights and recommendations.
  • Curious and open to new ideas while applying practical and effective risk solutions.
  • Willing to learn, receptive to feedback, and responsive to coaching for continuous improvement.
