Head of Business Banking
Head of Business Banking at DTB Bank May 2025
Position: Head of Business Banking
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Head Office
Reports to: Head of Corporate Banking
Job purpose
The
overall purpose of this role is to drive and implement the Business
Banking and SME strategy and provide strategic leadership to ensure
business development growth with the objective of meeting the bank’s
financial and strategic goals for both assets and liabilities business.
The role shall be responsible for driving growth, sales, and product
development of business banking and SME solutions.
Duties
- Ensure
strategic business planning to drive business development of bank
products to new and existing business banking clients and exploit
avenues for cross-selling other relevant products and services. - Ensure
growth and retention of the bank’s liabilities, assets, transactional,
and trade business from the business banking clientele in line with set
budget and strategic performance targets. - Provide high-quality service to customers, utilizing service as a sales opportunity.
- Participate in product development to deliver effective customer solutions.
- Ensure that the team practices effective management of their respective clientele portfolio of business banking clients.
- Develop
and maintain strong working relations with all existing clients at key
levels to optimize the utilization of approved facilities. - Display effective leadership and management of the team(s) through their heads of departments.

Requirements
- University degree in business or a related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Member of a relevant professional body.
- At least 10 years of banking experience, with at least 3 years in management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with good command of oral and written knowledge of English.
- Candidate must be computer literate.
- Personal attributes A structured approach to dealing with complex and variable work environments in an independent manner.
- A strong sales culture with the ability to manage sales teams effectively.
- Strong evaluation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Able to provide advice and cause/effect evaluation to support business decision making.
Fixed Income and Money Market Trader (Balance Sheet Optimization)
Position: Fixed Income and Money Market Trader (Balance Sheet Optimization)
Reports to: Head of Trading
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Head Office
Job Purpose
To
manage the bank’s fixed income and money market portfolio, ensuring
efficient deployment of funds, maintaining liquidity, and optimizing
returns on investments while managing interest rate and credit risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for statutory reserves.
- Manage intra-day cashflows and short-term funding for local currency clearing accounts and locally held foreign currency.
- Maintain adequate funds in nostro and clearing accounts, avoiding overdrafts and investing surpluses at optimal rates.
- Generate revenue through money market instruments and secure the best investment prices.
- Assist
in planning future cash movements to ensure necessary liquidity and
prepare forecast reports for the bank’s funding requirements. - Review and ensure all money market borrowing and lending deals comply with liquidity regulations.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong economic and analytical background.
- ACI Dealing Certificate (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Commerce, Banking and Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Kutchi, Gujrati, Spanish, French, or Chinese) is desirable.
Desired Candidate Profile
The
ideal candidate will possess a strong economic and analytical
background with expertise in relevant asset classes, interest rate
dynamics, and regulatory requirements. They should demonstrate sound
judgment in navigating market volatility and contribute to balance sheet
optimization strategies. An understanding of the local and
international financial services industry is an added advantage.
