    Job Description
    Position Description:
    Women’s Beekeeping Initiative empowers rural women through sustainable
    enterprise development. Honey harvested from beehives hung by women’s
    groups is jarred and sold under the Mama Asali brand. TPW is seeking a
    passionate, energetic and hard-working individual to fill the position
    of Conservation Enterprise and Marketing Officer. The successful
    candidate will be responsible for developing the Mama Asali brand into
    an income-generating, social enterprise for TPW and its community
    partners. Responsibilities will include developing the full hive to
    market value chain, developing women’s cooperatives, establishing market
    linkages between the cooperatives and larger resellers, and ensuring
    the overall profitability of the enterprise. Preference will be given to
    individuals with prior experience establishing a social enterprise in
    Tanzania, demonstrated ability to access East African markets, and/or a
    strong business background.
    The successful candidate must have
    impressive communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work
    in a multi-cultural environment with diverse stakeholders, and
    significant capability to work independently. This position will be
    based at the Noloholo Environmental Center but will require travel to
    remote program areas with limited facilities, safari camps and lodges,
    as well as urban marketplaces; applicants should enjoy a balance of
    travel and office time. Acting as a public emissary of TPW’s women’s
    enterprise program as well as an important role model for the 77+
    women’s groups partnering with TPW, the successful candidate will
    exhibit strong leadership characteristics. A team player, the individual
    will coordinate and interact closely with TPW’s bee-keeping
    program officer as well as other team members. We anticipate the
    position will require equal amounts of time for program development,
    marketing and distribution of products, and reporting.Recommended:

    Key Responsibilities:
    Independently develop and implement a social enterprise based on bee products, including the full harvest to market value chain
    the development of marketing materials, secure clients, and create
    distribution mechanisms for Mama Asali honey and future additional
    by-products (candles, soap, etc.)
    Build and maintain strong
    client relationships with safari companies, lodges, shopkeepers and
    distribution centers for all enterprise-related products and services
    Act as a public emissary of TPW’s programs, particularly in terms of its women’s initiative
    successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in
    business, enterprise development and/or finance. We are looking for an
    individual with the ability to independently develop a social
    enterprise. This requires exceptional leadership and communication
    skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. Preference will be given to
    candidates with prior small business development experience,
    particularly as it relates to women’s initiatives.



    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in one of the above fields
    Proven experience in small business development
    Experience with product distribution, including marketing and communication
    Excellent skills with Microsoft Office
    Strong interpersonal skills, including training and capacity building, and respect for other cultures
    Passionate concern for wildlife, local communities and TPW’s mission
    Willingness to live and work in remote field settings
    Excellent spoken and written English skills; proficiency in the Maa language is preferred


    Reports to:

    TPW Chief Program Officer

    Salary & Benefits:

    Full-time position based on experience and qualifications; salary commensurate

    with experience. Basic housing and food provided onsite. Contract is grant dependent, currently expiring in October 2021.

Our programmes are genuinely life-changing, but can’t do any of this without talented, creative individuals at every level of our organisation.

    ABOUT the role

    The Consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables:

    1. Presenting a script and a story-board to the management before starting filming the stories

    The consultant will be needed to submit a story layout to the management team for getting approval from the leadership team.
    2. Capturing and documenting successful stories from youth-led groups

    It is expected that the consultant will be responsible for making rapid field visits to collect inspiring stories from some selected and pre-listed groups of young people who have been working in various projects focused on livelihood improvement.

    3. Producing promotional video content.

    A consultant will have to produce an eye-catching short video that does not exceed 60 seconds to spark viewers’ interests to watch a longer version of the story.

    4. Recording stories and producing short documentaries in high definition formats.

    Stories of young leaders/change makers will be kept in audio and video formats detailing the impact they have brought to their families and communities at large.

    5. Produced a detailed report

    A consultant will be required to formulate a well-written report showing the challenges encountered in the field, the success of the activity and the key recommendations for future improvement of the livelihood projects and for capturing learnings.

    Officer – Beyond St Jude’s

    The School of St Jude is an education institution, entirely funded by charitable donations, that provides free, high-quality primary and secondary scholarships to 1,800 of the poorest and brightest students in the Tanzanian region of Arusha.

    We are looking to appoint an Officer – Beyond St Jude’s to be responsible for supporting the Beyond St Jude’s Community Service Year (CSY) program for St Jude’s graduates. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community development and a strong interest in NGO’s.

    Key Responsibilities
    Advise Form 5 and 6 students on Beyond St Jude’s Community Service Year (CSY) program.
    Assist with CSY intern applications.
    Liaise with Headmasters of local government schools for available teaching positions for CSY interns.
    Liaise with St Jude’s departments for available positions for CSY interns.
    Arrange CSY intern placements for Form 6 graduates in local government schools or St Jude’s departments.

    Organise the annual Work Readiness workshop.
    Support and mentor CSY interns during their placement, including visits and reviews.
    Assist the Beyond St Jude’s team with growth and expansion of CSY program.
    Adhere to strict annual workflow program.
    Assist students with career guidance, scholarship and university applications.
    Work with other members of the Beyond St Jude’s team and in other areas of the department’s duties.

    Other Duties
    Periodically suggest improvements to the department’s procedure and submit to your supervisor for approval.
    Participate and support fellow staff in school mission related activities such as all school celebration days.
    Participate in student selection process, including house checks after hours and on rest days up to 20 Saturdays per annum.
    Perform any duties as assigned by Heads of Department, Managers and Founding Director.
    Travel between campuses, visiting Government schools and universities.

    Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
    A minimum of two years’ experience in a teaching role in a secondary school.
    Bachelor of Education holder.
    Proficient in written and spoken English.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Good organisational skills, time management, and ability to work independently.
    Good computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel.
