Job Purpose

Provide a sales and professional financial advisory service function to the branch based banking market, increasing market penetration through the management of a portfolio of accounts and proactively identifying sales and cross-selling opportunities.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Grow the asset/liability base with respect to branch-based business banking market share in an innovative manner.
  • Manage & own the relationship with specific tier 1-business customers.
  • Fulfil the business and personal banking needs of business owners.
  • Retain the customer base and expand Stanbic’s market share (meeting customer retention and acquisition targets, identifying new and existing clients/leads to target).
  • Responsible for merchandising in the branch based business-banking market
  • Analyse information from a variety of sources, determine customers’ financial needs, the nature and type of relationships, risk analysis and financial analysis and make judgements as to the most suitable and profitable solution
  • Monitor changes in the operating environment, quick to act upon potential opportunities.

    Keep abreast of business banking developments through regular perusal to relevant literature.

  • Ensure that all aspects of credit policy are adhered to and the desired standards with respect to accuracy and timely reporting are achieved.
  • Comply with legal, credit and risk management-related obligations.
  • Providing superior customer service as measured by customer feedback/customer satisfaction surveys.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • A degree or postgraduate degree (business and/or finance related).

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

  • Product knowledge (general as well as investment-related; can determine product combination possibilities; understanding of pricing so as to be able to determine profitability) and also, an understanding of when specialist support is needed.
  • Credit scoring principles and procedures.
  • Credit applications processes.
  • Technical issues such as how to credit score, use software, open accounts.
  • Understanding of the Bank’s strategy & the local market business conditions and key players.

Job Purpose

To effectively manage and support the banks’ database systems, Core Banking Infrastructure systems and Datacentre support through the provision of timely, effective and professional ICT services as well as backups and restore of banks’ core
systems.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Perform preventative and      re-active (1st and 2nd level) database maintenance and database      administration.
  • Monitor monthly      performance of databases and develop action plans to remedy any      degradation of service by employing appropriate house-keeping strategies      for databases clean ups and other database management activities
  • Support installations      and implementations of databases in the bank by ensuring thorough testing      on the test environment before loading on the production and disaster      recovery systems
  • Ensure that Disaster      Recovery Plans are tested and DRP document updated.
  • Sustaining the security      and integrity of data in the Bank’s Databases
  • Provide required      business reports as per the needs
  • Monitor daily/monthly      performance of systems (Databases, Core banking systems hardware and      storage) and develop action plans to remedy any degradation of service by      conducting systems clean ups where necessary
  • Ensures high      availability of Database and Core banking servers
  • Monitor overall capacity      utilization of Core banking environment (database and core banking      systems) ensuring it is optimized to meet business requirements and escalate      to Line Manager where necessary.
  • Identify shortcomings on      the core banking systems and escalate to Line manager for further      escalation.
  • Review Database and Core      servers security controls periodically to ensure data and system access      controls are not compromised
  • Create and maintain      documented (e.g. Disaster recovery) procedures for the Database and core      banking systems.
  • Eliminate key man      dependencies within the team and ensure cross skilling
  • Participate in the      technical processes during the Business continuity activities
  • Participate in project      implementations as assigned by Line Manager and ensure completion within      set timelines
  • Ensure backup for all      database and core banking systems and that the restore process is in      place.
  • Ensure database      replication between production and DR data centres
  • Datacentre management
  • Daily monitoring of      Datacentre Facilities(Power,UPS and Aircon) and escalate any faults      accordingly.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s      Degree either in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer      Engineering or equivalent degree from a recognized institution
  • Professional      qualifications in Oracle and any other IT certification i.e ITIL, Linux      etc
  • Minimum of 3 years’      experience in Oracle Database administration

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

  • Programming language skills such as Java, Python and PHP.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Database Appliance(ODA)
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows, Linux and Unix Server platforms

  • Dealing with ATM duties

Qualification, Experience and Competences

  • A bachelor’s degree from any reputable university
  • One year working experience in the Banking Industry

Key actions to include:

  • Manage one’s Direct Dealing Mandate (DDM) client portfolio, to include:
    • Daily contact with DDM clients
    • Regular face-to-face interaction with DDM clients
    • Regular contact with principle Relationship Manager
  • Managing one’s allocated client portfolio and support the team in the management of the other client portfolios where needed
  • Under the direction of the Head of Markets Sales achieving a leading position in the chosen products, markets and segments by:
    • Spending at least 50% of one’s time meeting with existing and identified new clients
    • Giving superior customer service
    • Presenting the full NBC product set to clients whilst managing the product portfolio to suit client needs
    • Expanding the customer base to financial institutions and investors as is appropriate
    • Engaging with and delivering on Retail and Business Banking initiatives to grow the client base and the product distribution
    • Undertaking customer visits and joint customer visits with Coverage team
  • Managing one’s client portfolio to generate strong growth and sustainable returns over the business cycle with special focus on Customer Service and Financial Performance
  • Assisting the Head of Markets Sales in achieving strategic and tactical objectives

Accountability : Reporting. Time split: 5%

Key actions to include:

  • Providing weekly reporting on client growth, volume and profitability in one’s own portfolio
  • Providing detailed Management Information to the Head of Markets Sales on the composition, performance and profitability of the client portfolios on a monthly basis
  • Assisting the Head of Markets Sales with any ad-hoc reporting requests

Accountability : Risk management. Time split : 10%

Key actions to include:

  • Maintaining a strong compliance culture
  • Adhering to all the policies and procedures of the bank
  • Ensuring that all deals are dealt within dealer limits (market risk limits, counterparty limits, dealer’s mandate)
  • Ensuring high quality of service to all clients (reputational risk)

  • Actively managing one’s own technical and soft skills development in conjunction with the Head of Markets Sales

Education and Experience Required;

Accountability:  Driving Business Development and Growth -40%

Eligibility Criteria

  4. Highly integral and must have no criminal records.
  5. No involvement as a member of the Management or Board of Directors with a banking institution whose registration or license has been revoked or cancelled or which has gone into liquidation.

Reporting to the Head of Credit, the Senior Manager- Collections and recoveries will be charged with a responsibility of ensuring that the collections sector is managed efficiently and is equipped to meet its business objectives, to execute collection strategy and maximize prospects of full collection from overdue payments through implementation of collection activities and controls that effectively manages delinquency ratios and losses, whilst maintaining customer good will as well as to coach, train, guide and lead a team of Collections and Recoveries officers in the recovery of outstanding amounts on all substandard and Non-Performing Loans.

Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
Strategy

To have an adequate and relevant collection strategy commensurate with the size and risk of the portfolio.
Ensuring that all Collections & Recoveries policies and procedures are compliant with the country regulations, these should be documented and reviewed regularly.
Deliver on Collection Strategy Road map for the next 2 years.
Create significant capability in Collection Analytics to ensure that all collection activities are carried out in compliance with the agreed standards and with due recognition of the regulatory guidelines within the country and the overall Operational Risk Framework.
Uphold the principles of Treating Customers Fairly during customer interaction.
Maintain the highest standards of vendor governance.
Ensure that all risks in Collections & Recoveries processes are identified, measured, monitored and controlled.
Making optimal use of all collection tools and using analytics and data segmentation to enhance collection efficiency.
Ensuring constant development of system capability to enhance operating process
To ensure that portfolio analysis conducted by the Credit team is fully leveraged for collections activity

Business.

Profitability through recoveries, minimization of bad debts
Minimization of credit losses and increase in profits through releases and lower charge off amounts.

Processes

Ensuring all Collections policies and procedures are in compliance with Group Policies and in line with local regulations.
Ensure proper and updated documentation of all in-country policies and procedures are maintained and easily accessible at all times.

People and Talent

To ensure capacity is managed in accordance with defined Bank’s standards maintaining an active training and learning collections environment to ensure excellence in Collections Management.
Oversee career development plans of direct reports to ensure robust succession planning and adequate bench strength for the department.
Provide leadership, coaching and support through participating in objective setting, managing performance and identifying development needs.

Risk Management

Ensure proper functioning of day to day controls, periodic monitoring activities and timely identification and resolution of risk issues.
Ensure all collections policies and procedure comply with group standard and regulatory guidelines
Accountable for satisfactory closure of issues gaps arising from internal audits, business risk reviews, Peer Reviews and regulatory reviews – Ensure timely closure of control issues raised by operation risk team as well as ensuring closures with no repeats in the collections area.
Account for compliance with Operational Risk, against money laundering guidelines, reputational risk and local regulations on collection activities, and data confidentiality policies.
Ensure timely, accurate submission of reports and information is highlighted immediately.
Adhere to collection processes, procedures and ensure activities are aligned to Group collection policy and process standards and local regulations.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Management degree/Professional Qualification in Credit Management preferred.
8 years banking experience, 4 of which should have been in credit
Knowledge in Credit Management.
Computer literacy particularly proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Good understanding and appreciation of economic environment and its impact on consumers.
Very good analytical skills needed to analyze economic climate and come up with appropriate collection and recoveries strategies.
Be able to identify early warning signals.
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate others.
Strong verbal communication skills and an ability to negotiate and influence.
Able to work under pressure and with stringent performance targets.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification

    TIB Development Bank Limited is Development Finance Institutions (DFI) wholly owned by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania.     Nature and Scope
    The successful candidate will report to the Director, Internal Audit. She/he will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting, financial, operational and other systems are adequate in design and effective in operations, to ensure that laid down procedures of the bank are being followed.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Participate in the Planning & budgeting process and schedule audit operations.
    • Participate in the preparation and updating of the internal audit charter, internal audit manual and audit policies.
    • Plan and prepare an audit program for the audit assignment to be conducted.
    • Review, appraise and report on the soundness, adequacy and application of financial and other management controls.
    • Review and appraise the laid down risk management and mitigation procedures.
    • Conduct special audits and investigations and present the report to the Director of Internal Audit.
    • Conduct Audit assignments on various operational areas of the bank and produce reports of findings.
    • Analyze data for evidence of deficiencies in control, fraud or lack of compliance with approved management policies.
    • Make follow up and ensure that recommendations made by internal, external auditors and BOT examiners are implemented.
    • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.


    Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

    • Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline from a recognized University/lnstitution.
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Must possess a recognized professional accountancy qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA. ACA or any other recognized accounting professional qualification.
    • Minimum of four (4) years’ working experience in banking/financial or financial institution.
    • Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills with ability to write reports and documentation in a concise and focused style.

    The successful candidate will report to the Manager Funds Mobilization and Syndication and support middle office in relation to funding and Treasury Management. She/he will be responsible to undertake rigorous financial analysis on the bank’s balance sheet and markets to inform decision – making process.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analysis of key financial performance ratio trends and recommend appropriate course of actions.
    • Support the analysis of risk profile and stress testing and advise on counterpart limits.
    • Undertake income sensitivity to changes in market variables including yields, interest rate, exchange rate, inflation and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
    • Undertake analysis of liquidity risk due to maturity mismatch, funding levels and changes in the market trends.
    • Asset valuation in respect of fixed income securities and bank’s equity investments.
    • Undertake market analysis of pricing and ensure bank’s pricing is commensurate to Bank’s objective and advise appropriate measures.
    • Review, analyse and interpret management accounts for decision making.
    • Advise on appropriate timing and pricing for issuance of various funding instruments in the capital market and monitor their performance in the secondary market.
    • Monitor economic trends, capital market rules and regulations to ensure smooth implementation of bank’s funding strategies.
    • Analysis of liquidity management reports including cash flows and gap analysis.
    • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.


    Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

    • Bachelor degree or its equivalent in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, and Accounting related discipline from a recognized Institution. Holder of Master’s degree will be added advantage.
  • Minimum of six years of relevant professional experience with good working knowledge in relation to transaction structures, products, fixed income, derivatives, equity, African capital markets, financial analysis of project finance and corporate finance lending and equity investments, risk management instruments.
  • Proven excellence in written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex and technical issues in simple terms, while maintaining accuracy.
  • A strong background in investment and development banking with experience in working with private sector projects, state owned entities, utilities/infrastructure authorities and Government.
  • Drive for results, takes personal ownership and accountability to meet deadlines and achieve agreed-upon results, and has the personal organization to do so.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and financial market skills.
  • Competence with use of standard MS Office software applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and Treasury Systems – Summit, Reuters and Bloomberg applications and T24.

    • Monitor maturing obligations and liaise with finance in ensuring timely payments.
    • Renegotiation and re-pricing of matured obligations.
    • Provide inputs for short-term, medium- term and long-term cash flow plan to meet Liquidity needs.
    • Execution of approved investment decisions.
    • Work closely with back office to ensure timely payment of funding related liabilities.
    • Monitor on daily basis all accounts, support reconciliation exercise and highlight anomalies.
    • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

    • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Banking or related fields obtained from a recognized Institution.
    • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in a reputable Bank/Financial institution or CPA(T) holder or equivalent
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to prepare cash flow reports in a concise and focused style.
    • Knowledge of financial analysis is an added advantage.
    • Advanced computer skills especially in spread sheets, database and presentation.
