Mahinya College of Sustainable Agriculture 

The Mahinya Training Centre for sustainable agriculture has been established in 2008, from a partnership between the Italian NGO COPE and the Archdiocese of Songea as local counterpart. The centre is located in Ruvuma region, Namtumbo district in Msindo village. About 28 kilometers from Songea Town. 

With the help of the Italian NGO COPE that was awarded a grant from The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affair, the centre began the construction of buildings and recruitment of staff for the initiation of Crash Courses on Sustainable Agriculture and Livestock on August 2008.

Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships each academic year to junior scholars in the humanities who are no more than five years out of their doctorate. Preference will be given to candidates not yet in tenure track positions, whose proposals are interdisciplinary, who have not previously enjoyed use of the resources of the University of Pennsylvania, and who would particularly benefit from and contribute to Penn’s intellectual life. The programs of the Wolf Humanities Center are conceived through yearly topics that invite broad interdisciplinary collaboration. For the 2020-2021 academic year, the topic will be CHOICE. Fellowship The Fellowship carries a stipend of $57,900 plus a $3000 research fund and single-coverage health insurance (fellows are responsible for coverage for any dependents). Fellows teach one undergraduate course in addition to conducting their research. Eligibility Open to all scholars from any country; The PhD (and its international equivalent, such as the DPhil) is the only eligible terminal degree, and applicants must be humanists or those in such allied fields as anthropology or history of science. Ineligible categories include an MFA or any other doctorate such as EdD, social scientists, scholars in educational curriculum building, and performing artists (note: scholars of performance are eligible). The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is searching for an Associate, Monitoring and Evaluation to support the Tanzania Food Fortification program in ensuring timely delivery of monitoring and evaluation activities.
GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.

The Associate, Monitoring and Evaluation will support the Food Fortification Program in Tanzania by ensuring high quality in the design and implementation of GAIN projects.
Specific responsibilities include;

  • Work with the GAIN country and KL team and other partners in country to develop results frameworks/logical frameworks and monitoring plans, develop and ensure adequate use monitoring tools
  • Collaborate with the KL team on other program evaluations and research studies as needed, in all aspects of planning, implementation, analysis and dissemination of such projects
  • Contribute to analysis of information collected and support all dissemination efforts including writing reports, briefs and other materials.
  • Support work with selected implementation partners in country on all aspects of project planning and implementation including technical (finalizing protocols, data collection tools, conducting trainings, supervising field work), process (implementation plan development and monitoring, tracking deliverables).

Candidates for this position must have experience in analyzing data, tracking indicators, developing and strengthening performance monitoring systems. They should possess strong communication skills to effectively liaise with research agencies and government offices. We are keen to speak with candidates who are proactive, with a commitment to quality, accuracy and close attention to detail.

OVERVIEW:
Babati Rural District is a district of Manyara Regionof Tanzania, East Africa. The administrative capital of the district is Babati town, 172 km (107 mi) south of Arusha. The district covers an area of 6,069 km2(2,343 sq mi), a large proportion (640 km2) of which is covered by the water bodies of Lake Babati, Lake Burunge and Lake Manyara. The district is bordered to the north by Arusha Region, to the south east by Simanjiro District, to the south by Dodoma Region, to the south west by Hanang District, and to the north west by Mbulu District. Babati Urban District is located within the district.

Babati District was established by dividing the then Hanang District into two districts – Babati and Hanang. The decision produced Babati District, which was officially documented in the Government Official Gazette No. 403 on 1 October 1985. Babati District became autonomous in July 1986 as a District Council.
According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Babati District was 303,013.
The District Commissioner of Babati District is Hadija R.R. Nyembo.

Aim
The Registration Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA) aims at effective and efficient management of information on key life events, incorporation of trustees, safeguarding properties under trust, of deceased persons, insolvents, and minors to enable the law to take its course.

Historical Background
RITA was officially launched on the 23rd June 2006 and replaces what was known as the Administrator Generals Department in the Attorney Generals Chambers, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. It is an Executive Agency under the Attorney Generals Chambers in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

The history of RITA dates back in 1917 when the German Colonial power enacted a law for registration of births and deaths (Proclamation No.15 of 1917 (Civil Area). When the British took over the administration of Tanganyika (Tanzania Mainland) from the Germans retained the Register of births and deaths established under the Germans law by saving it under the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance, 1920 (Cap.108)
It should be noted that under both colonial powers registration of births and deaths was not compulsory for Africans.
